Well they do have a population problem over there...not enough land.
Marketing to China may have also been a thought.

I know this is off-subject, but is in relation to one of your other posts on religion and I thought it important and my be of interest to you.
Maybe it is not that far off topic since the Catholics believe masturbation is a sin and we can now try to convince their congregation to invest in the new Jap Peter Pump, thus giving the Alter Boys rear-ends a rest.

LONDON (Reuters) – God did not create the universe and the "Big Bang" was an inevitable consequence of the laws of physics, the eminent British theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking argues in a new book.

kcoz: Not everyone knows how (or why) to masturbate. I think, if it was taught at an early age you wouldn't have some of the sexual crimes that men commit because they're frustrated and can't think of anything else to do.
Maybe that simplifies the problem, but it's a start at least.

Anthony…
it is not just men who commit crimes related to sex, look up “Shanda Sharer”. I think all aspects of sexuality should be covered in depth (taught at school as apposed to ones neighbor) at an earlier age, especially the confusing emotions that accompany them.
Of coarse the religious right think sex is dirty and only to be used for impregnating, with the lights off in the missionary position under a cross, and not spoken about. But their children will find out about it on the street from other kids who know very little about it as I did, and we wanted to know about it because our hormones were raging and we were interested, confused, and frustrated.

BTW, I did read the whole article, and many others written on the subject, including books. Like Bill Maher I had a hard time loosing my religion but it was inevitable since I have always been the type to ask “Why?”, and who the hell said it in the first place.

Later... Glad you did a post on this as well
